Microneedling Advanced Skin Treatments at The Eastwood Retreat Beauty & Aesthetics Salon in Eastwood
Microneedling is a highly effective anti-ageing treatment which uses tiny needles to boost collagen production and improve the appearance of your skin. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and scars, making the skin's texture firmer and clearer.
Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, this minimally invasive treatment works with your skin's natural repair system. Using a sterile Fusion Platinum Pen with tiny needles, the fully trained beauty therapists at our Eastwood beauty salon will make multiple small pinpricks in the skin. The pinpricks are so small you may not even notice them after the procedure.
The procedure requires no down-time and is considered safe for most people who are in good health. Call us now on 01773 609249 to book a consultation.

How Does Microneedling Work?
As the skin heals the pinpricks made by the pen, it responds by producing new, collagen rich tissue which is more even in tone and texture, thus reversing the natural loss of collagen which occurs as we age. Microneedling also allows skin care products to penetrate more deeply into the skin for optimum results and tighter, plumper and healthier skin. At The Eastwood Retreat we have a range of specialist skin serums available which we use to infuse the skin following the microneedling treatment. Your beautician will assess your skin and advise on the best serum for use for your particular skincare concerns.
Microneedling is known as a fractional treatment, in which only a fraction of the skin's surface is affected, leaving the rest of it unharmed around each micro-wound caused by the needles. It is most often used on the face, but it can also be used to treat acne scarring, other light scarring, stretch marks and skin pigmentation problems elsewhere on the body. The most popular areas for treatment are forehead, between the eyebrows, nose, around the eyes, cheeks and around the mouth.
What Are The Benefits Of Microneedling Treatments In Eastwood?
Microneedling can be used to:
- Tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin
- Reduce acne scarring
- Improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
- Reduce the size of open pores
- Improve the appearance of light scars and stretch marks
- Improve the appearance of ‘age spots’ and sun damage.
What Can I Expect At My Microneedling Appointment?
Our beauty therapists are fully trained in microneedling techniques so you can be confident that you are in safe hands at our Eastwood beauty salon. We will carry out a full consultation before your first treatment so we can make sure you are a suitable candidate for microneedling treatment and answer all your questions.
Before your procedure we may apply anaesthetic cream to numb the area, but most clients experience little or no pain from the treatment so this is not always required. We will discuss this with you at the time of your appointment.
During your procedure, we will move the microneedling device evenly across the surface of your skin to ensure that the new skin that regenerates during the healing process will be even too. The procedure takes approximately 1 hour in total.
How Many Microneedling Treatments Will I Need?
Although you will notice an improvement after an individual treatment, micro needling is not a quick fix and for best results we recommend a short course of microneedling treatments, allowing your body time to heal itself and regenerate the skin. Most people will also need a series of treatments — typically at least two or three, but potentially as many as six, spaced four to six weeks apart. An individual treatment can be very effective if you simply want to give your skin a boost before a special occasion.
We will advise you at your initial consultation how many treatments will be needed to achieve your desired results.

Is microneedling suitable for everyone?«
Microneedling is generally safe for all skin types. However, if you are pregnant or have eczema, psoriasis, diabetes or other chronic conditions, we would advise you to consult your GP first.
Is there any downtime after a microneedling treatment?«
Most people do not need to take any time off work after the procedure, although you may experience some redness for 12- 48 hours.
Could I try microneedling or dermarolling at home?«
No, we would definitely advise you to leave this treatment in the hands of trained professionals. Although you may see at-home "dermaroller" kits for sale, these generally have shorter needles and are simply designed to enhance the absorption of skin care products. They will not create the micro-injuries and transformative healing that a professional treatment brings about.
There are also health and safety risks associated with attempting microneedling procedures at home, which could lead to injury or infection. It's far better to leave the treatment to our skin care experts, who will assess your skin, ensure that microneedling is the best treatment for your requirements, and prepare your skin properly to achieve the best possible results.
Is microneedling painful?«
Although microneedling might sound painful, the reality is that most clients experience little or no discomfort. We will discuss this with you at your initial consultation and can apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area if needed.
How will I look after my microneedling treatment?«
Straight after the treatment, you are likely to experience some redness, like you have been out in the sun. Your skin will feel warm and may feel tight. These symptoms pass quickly and normally diminish considerably within the same day. You will experience only slight redness on the following day, if at all.
What are the aftercare procedures for a microneedling treatment?«
We will supply full advice when you come in for your consultation but these are the key points to remember:
- Do not touch the treatment area immediately after your microneedling procedure
- Wash the treatment area gently in tepid water only for the first 48 hours
- Pat dry with a clean towel
- Do not wear makeup for at least 12 hours after treatment
- Use a high factor SPF in the days following the treatment
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 12 hours.
Is microneedling only for the face?«
Although the face is the most commonly chosen area for microneedling treatments, they can be carried out anywhere on the body which would benefit from skin tightening or scar reduction, including acne scarring. Treatment areas can include the neck, décolleté and hands as well as the thighs, buttocks, back and abdomen.
